Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using Otterly Money (the “Service”). By creating a family, signing in, or otherwise using Otterly Money, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Otterly Money Is Not a Bank

Otterly Money is an educational tool that helps families teach kids about money using virtual, illustrative balances. Otterly Money is not a bank, money transmitter, or financial institution; it does not hold, transfer, or insure real money on your behalf, and balances shown in the app are not deposits, are not FDIC/government insured, and cannot be withdrawn as real currency through the app. Any resemblance to real banking features (interest, swaps, investments) is for educational demonstration only, using illustrative or, where noted, real market-linked reference rates.

2. Who Can Use Otterly Money

A parent or legal guardian (“Parent”) creates a family account and is responsible for adding and supervising kid profiles (“Kid” accounts) for their own children. By creating a family, you confirm you are an adult with the legal authority to agree to these Terms and to consent, on behalf of your kid(s), to their use of the Service as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Accounts

You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Parents are responsible for supervising Kid accounts they create, including any username/password used by a kid to sign in. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of an account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use Otterly Money for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, data, or system; interfere with or disrupt the Service; misrepresent your identity or your relationship to a Kid account; or use the Service to harass, harm, or exploit a child.

5. Otterly Money Pro (one-time purchase)

Otterly Money offers an optional paid upgrade (“Otterly Money Pro”) that unlocks custom savings interest rates and kid investing for your family. It is a single, one-time payment for lifetime access— not a recurring subscription, and it is never charged again or renewed automatically. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, who handles the transaction and any applicable sales tax; we never see or store your card details. Prices are shown in your wallet’s currency before you pay. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at the address below.

6. Third-Party Services

Otterly Money integrates with third-party services you may choose to connect, such as Google (sign-in) and LINE (notifications). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

7. Intellectual Property

Otterly Money and its content, features, and design (excluding content you or your family provide) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service except as permitted by these Terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any illustrative interest rate, market data, or projection is accurate, complete, or a reliable guide for real-world financial decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Otterly Money and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Because Otterly Money does not hold real funds, no real monetary loss can occur through the Service’s virtual balances themselves.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or the Service. You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Otterly Money operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.
